Title: Complete Used Concrete Pump Truck Maintenance Manual 2026 — Scientific Maintenance to Reduce Cost & Prolong Equipment Life
Different from brand-new pump trucks with zero wear, second-hand concrete pump trucks have experienced a certain period of on-site construction operation, and all mechanical parts have normal operating wear and aging. If daily maintenance and maintenance are neglected, minor wear will gradually evolve into major faults, resulting in increased maintenance costs, reduced construction efficiency and shortened equipment service life. Scientific and standardized daily maintenance is the core key to maintain the good working condition of second-hand pump trucks, reduce failure rate and maximize investment benefits. This article provides a full set of professional maintenance schemes suitable for all brands and meter-level used pump trucks, covering daily inspection, regular maintenance and idle maintenance.
1. Hydraulic System Core Maintenance (The Most Critical Part)
The hydraulic system is the power core of the pump truck. The aging and pollution of hydraulic oil is the main cause of hydraulic failure of second-hand pump trucks. It is necessary to replace the original hydraulic oil regularly according to the equipment working hours, thoroughly clean the hydraulic oil tank and filter screen, and remove internal impurities and sludge. Long-term uncleaned hydraulic oil will cause pipeline blockage, valve group jamming, oil cylinder wear and power attenuation, which will seriously affect the pumping efficiency.
Check all hydraulic pipelines, joints and sealing rings every week to eliminate oil seepage and leakage. Replace aging and cracked pipelines in time to avoid pipeline burst during high-pressure construction. Regularly test the hydraulic system pressure to ensure that the pressure value is within the standard range, and adjust the pressure in time if there is deviation to avoid insufficient construction power.

2. Pumping System Wear Parts Regular Replacement
The pumping system is a high-wear working part. The wear sleeve, cutting ring, piston, conveying cylinder and S-valve are vulnerable parts that need regular inspection and replacement. For second-hand pump trucks with certain working hours, the wear degree of vulnerable parts is higher than that of new cars. It is necessary to check the wear thickness every half month and replace them in time when they reach the wear limit, so as to avoid concrete pipe blockage, material leakage and pumping failure during construction.
Clean the residual concrete inside the pumping pipeline after each construction to prevent concrete solidification and blockage in the pipeline, which will cause pipeline wear and affect the next use. Regularly lubricate the rotating and connecting parts of the S-valve to ensure flexible switching and stable pumping operation.

3. Boom & Outrigger Structural Maintenance
Regularly check the boom welding seams, pin shafts and connecting bolts to ensure that there is no looseness, crack and abnormal wear. Fill lubricating grease into each hinge point regularly to reduce metal friction and structural wear. Check the outrigger telescopic state and sealing performance to ensure that there is no jamming and oil leakage, and ensure the stability of the whole vehicle during construction support.
Do a good job in the anti-rust treatment of the boom and body structure, regularly clean the surface dust and concrete residue, and spray anti-rust paint on the rusted parts to avoid structural corrosion and aging, which will affect the service life and structural safety.

4. Engine & Chassis System Maintenance
Replace engine oil, oil filter, air filter and antifreeze regularly according to the cycle to ensure sufficient engine power and stable operation. Clean the engine heat dissipation system and water tank scale to avoid high temperature failure in summer construction. Check the chassis brake system, tire pressure and wear degree regularly to ensure driving safety.

5. Long-Term Idle Equipment Special Maintenance
When the second-hand pump truck is idle for a long time due to off-season construction, it is necessary to empty the residual concrete and water in the pipeline, do a good job of overall anti-rust and dust-proof treatment, start the engine regularly for idle operation, and flexibly operate the boom and outrigger system to avoid long-term static placement leading to part rust, jamming and oil circuit aging.
Scientific maintenance can restore the working condition of second-hand pump trucks to more than 80% of new equipment, greatly reduce the later maintenance cost, stabilize the construction efficiency, and effectively extend the overall service life of the equipment, bringing longer-term stable income for equipment operators and leasing merchants
